Basic Position Objective Statement:

Create and lead a global supply chain process from our suppliers to our customers to meet customer expectations with the greatest system efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Develop and administer an efficient, cost effective global supply chain that facilitates business growth with prudent management of inventory.

Responsible for the negotiation and procurement of resale products, raw materials, outsourced manufacturing / assembling, supplies, and other services for the Graham business.  Obtain and analyze quotations, negotiate prices, terms, conditions, and then select or recommend suppliers with whom orders are to be placed.

Manage the resale products and service requirements including purchasing and materials management.

Develop, nurture, and maintain cooperative supplier relationships to ensure availability of materials and services. 

Develop new suppliers in various low-cost regions of world.

Design, implement, and monitor all sourcing strategies and policies to ensure achievement of all business objectives with a focus on reducing costs. 

Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Marketing and NPD teams to identify sourcing options, cost reduction opportunities, and help coordinate implementation.

Oversee and assist activities of Supply Chain Manager and planning team to ensure consistency in meeting established customer service levels, inventory targets, and ensuring transportation operations and services are timely and cost effective.

Assist Manufacturing / Engineering team as a resource for procurement of capital equipment

Participate as a key member of Graham leadership team. 

Other assignments as made by management.

Knowledge, Education and Training Qualifications and Certifications:

BA or BS degree and 10 years of related experience.

Key Functional Competencies:

Global sourcing experience and demonstrated success with integrating global suppliers

Purchasing and supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment.

Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.  Excellent communication influencing skills.  Establishes and maintains a high level of credibility. 

Demonstrated leadership ability in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Collaborates effectively across the organization; leverages resources from other parts of the organization to build commitment and achieve results—partners with other leaders and functions to achieve optimal results for the Company.

Ability to analyze relevant data and base decisions on it.

Well-developed negotiation skills.

Highly proficient computer skills and knowledge (Windows, Excel, Word, Power Point, email, etc., ability to prepare spreadsheets and graphs).

AS/400, JDE and/or experience using comparable manufacturing integrated software.

Travel Requirement – 10-15%, primary global, some domestic travel

Physical Requirements:

The ability to work in a normal office environment to include:  sitting or standing for long periods of time, operating various standard office equipment, carrying paper documents/files, reaching and bending, speaking on the telephone, walking through our manufacturing plant, and wearing required personal protection gear (i.e. hearing, eye and foot protection).
